Can I organise a specific time for delivery and collection?

We cannot guarantee a specific time for delivery and collection. However, your best chance of securing your optimal delivery and collection window is to contact us at least 1 day in advance.

How long can I hire one of your skip bins for?

Our standard hire period is three days. However, if you’re ready for the bin to be picked up before then, that can be arranged. Alternatively, If you need to extend the hire period, a daily fee of $30 incurs.

Are there extra charges?

The following extra charges are applicable:

  • Fees vary for overloaded bins. If your bin is overloaded, you will have to pay extra at $120 per cubic metre or part thereof.

  • A $120 contamination fee occurs if there are non-complying products in the bin. Further charges apply if contamination causes damage to the bins.
  • Any skip bins holding mattresses and tyres will incur extra fees

What size bin do I need?

Our skips range from 2 to 12 cubic metre sizes. Our team has put together a handy guide: Skip Hire: What Size Do I Need? which provides a good guide to select a skip bin size based on your project and the type of waste you’re discarding. If you’re still unsure about what size you need, give our friendly team a call at (03) 9585 4385.

Where do you place the skip bin?

Skip bins are generally placed on your driveway, or wherever a truck can fit to place the skip, ideally on your property. If the skip cannot be placed on your property, we can help you apply for a Bayside council skip bin permit, which comes at an extra cost.

Can glass go in skip bins?

No, you cannot put glass in any of our skip bins.

How do I tell if I have asbestos?

Houses built before 1985 are quite likely to contain some form of fibro asbestos sheeting. Asbestos can commonly be found in bathrooms, eaves of houses, older concrete driveways, old roof tiles, old Telstra pits, electrical metre boards and corrugated roofing.

How high can I fill my skip bin?

In line with Victorian laws, skip bins must not be filled higher than the rim. If your skip is overfilled, we are prohibited from picking it up as our drivers can be prosecuted for overloaded transport.

How do I know if I need a permit?

If your skip bin does not fit within your property, you will need a Bayside council skip bin permit so that it can legally be placed on the nature strip. As permit costs vary from council to council, we recommend using our pricing calculator for accuracy. From here, CopperRock can apply for a permit on your behalf.
